“I just want to thank everybody for such warm congratulations today, from our friends to our family, from people we don’t know,” Haydon said. “It’s just been overwhelming but beautiful.”

The pair laughed when a reporter inquired if Albanese was planning a “pre-election” wedding.

“It’s just been a day,” Haydon answered.

Albanese went on, “We’re living in the moment.” “Everything was well thought out and planned out… We’ll now work out those things and have those conversations between us, which I believe people would understand. But for now, all we want is to be present in the moment.”

After 19 years of marriage, Albanese and his ex-wife, former deputy premier of New South Wales Carmel Tebbutt, filed for divorce in 2019, according to the BBC.
