OnePlus Watch 2 with stainless steel case and Wear OS launched

Three years ago, the first OnePlus Watch was released, and it used a proprietary operating system.

Since then, the business has started over and made considerable adjustments to the new device, which is now known as the OnePlus Watch 2.

Its foundation is a “Dual Engine Architecture,” which consists of two chipsets and two operating systems.

One is the Snapdragon W5, which is powered by Wear OS and gives you complete app store access.

The other is the low-power real-time operating system (RTOS)-running BES2700.

You can use Google Maps, Assistant, Wallet, Calendar, Keep, Gmail, and much more in Smart Mode.

In-built watch faces number twenty, and an additional eighty can be downloaded.

The 500mAh battery can run for up to 100 hours in this mode with moderate use and up to 48 hours with intensive use.

Even though the Power Saver Mode only keeps the RTOS running, it still has a number of useful features, such as heart rate and sleep tracking, sports modes for cycling and swimming, and the ability to make and take calls.

The watch has a 12-day battery life when Power Saver is turned on.

In addition, the 7.5W VOOC fast charger will swiftly replenish the battery when it eventually runs low.

A full 100% charge takes 60 minutes, but if you need it now, you may receive a full day’s worth of use (in Smart Mode) in just 10 minutes.

The stainless steel body of the OnePlus Watch 2 is 47.0 x 46.6 x 12.1 mm in size.

The watch is substantial at 49g on its own and 80g with the fluoro rubber strap (which has a stainless steel buckle) since stainless steel is tougher than aluminum.

The 1.43″ AMOLED display is protected by 2.5D sapphire glass. It operates at 60 Hz and has a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels.

It can reach 1,000 nits in High Brightness Mode, which is essential for outdoor visibility.

In relation to the outdoors, the watch is appropriate for swimming due to its 5 ATM water resistance rating. Also, it is constructed in accordance with MIL-STD-810H.

It supports all of the major constellations (Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, and QZSS) and features a dual-frequency GPS (L1+L5). A barometer, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, and even a light sensor to change the screen’s brightness are among the other sensors.

Of course, there’s also an optical pulse oximeter.

It tracks your breathing and oxygen levels, identifies the phases of your sleep, scores the quality of your sleep, and even determine whether you snore or not.

The sensor monitors your heart rate variability and offers stress monitoring as well.

Utilizing the GPS and additional sensors, running mode tracks your distance, speed, vertical amplitude, ground contact time, balance, maximal oxygen intake, and stride length.

This lets your watch become your running coach in addition to tracking your progress.

Similar to this, there are settings for badminton and tennis that record how many shots are made, how many swings are made, and even what kind of shot it was—forehand, backhand, topspin, slice, etc.

Skiing mode records your top and average speeds, top altitude and slope, and more.

It should be noted that the Wear OS 4 system may access up to 32GB of storage and 2GB of RAM for apps that require it.

This allows you to save offline media, like music and maps.
