Car Slams Into Secret Service Vehicle Near to The Biden’s Campaign Offices in Delaware

While President Biden was outside addressing reporters, a motorist struck a White House-affiliated sport utility vehicle. There were no wounds to the president.

As President Biden was leaving his reelection campaign headquarters on Sunday, an automobile slammed into a Secret Service vehicle guarding the president’s motorcade. This happened during his interview with reporters in Wilmington, Delaware’s downtown.

The White House claims that neither Mr. Biden nor the first lady, Jill Biden, were hurt. They had been having supper with campaign staff members and attending an event at their campaign headquarters.

Just after 8 p.m., Mr. Biden was talking about his polling figures when a silver car with Delaware license plates collided with a Secret Service sport utility vehicle that was obstructing a junction that led to the street he was visiting.

“There was no protective interest associated with this event,” according to a statement from the Secret Service, indicating that the collision was unintentional and the motorist was unaware that Mr. Biden was attending the event.

The agency said in the statement, “The president’s motorcade departed without incident.”

According to Wilmington Police Department spokesperson David Karas, no one was hurt in the crash. According to Mr. Karas, “investigators are also trying to figure out if impairment was a factor.”

Reporters in the White House press pool said that after the crash, the responding law enforcement surrounded the car and pointed firearms at the driver, forcing him to give up.

Videos uploaded online appear to show the officers requesting that the driver open his door. As soon as Mr. Biden turned to face the event and before agents escorted him into his car, photographers on the scene caught him looking astonished.
