Bollywood actress and Mandi MP-elect Kangana Ranaut was reportedly assaulted by suspended CISF personnel Kulwinder Kaur, according to charges filed by the Mohali district police on Friday.

The Indian Express was informed by police sources that a formal complaint had been filed under the Indian Penal Code’s (IPC) Sections 323 (assault) and 341 (wrongful restraint).

As the newly elected MP was boarding a flight to Delhi on Thursday, Kaur reportedly slapped him at the Mohali airport. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) filed a complaint with the local police.

Following the event, the CISF promptly suspended Kaur, initiated a departmental investigation against her, and filed a police report to look into the incident, which took place at the International Airport’s security hold area.

Following the event, Ranaut claimed that Kaur had attacked her while she was going through the security hold area.

In a video, Kaur could be heard expressing her anger at Ranaut’s comments made during the farmers’ protest.
