At the G7 Summit, Italy’s PM Giorgia Meloni greeted UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and rumors of their uncomfortable embrace and kiss has gone viral.


Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy, is organizing a two-day G7 Summit. Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of Britain, is one of the guests.

PM Meloni welcomed him to the location, and images of the two leaders are currently going viral on the Internet.

Borgo Egnazia: As he comes for the 50th G7 Summit, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is greeted by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, according to a video shared by news agency ANI on X (previously Twitter).

When the video first starts, Meloni is seen approaching Sunak and giving him a heartfelt embrace and kiss. The two chuckle and converse for a long as the video continues. The two leaders then take a picture together before continuing their conversation.

But soon after, the Internet made public an uncomfortable embrace and kiss between the two. An X user posted a photo of the event and commented, “It looked a lot like Rishi Sunak went in for a snog and Giorgia Meloni pulled back when she was greeting him at G7.” Then, there was a strong sense of “ew, foul breath.”

Another person stated, “During a welcome ceremony on day one of the 50th G7 summit, Rishi Sunak greets Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.”

A third person on social media said, “Don’t lean in, Rishi!”
