The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrapped up his 63-day Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Mumbai the day before the gathering at Shivaji Park.

The INDIA coalition of the Congress-led Opposition is scheduled to host a massive protest in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on Sunday. 

Leaders of the INDIA bloc, including MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, will be present at the last gathering of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which is being led by Rahul Gandhi.

The gathering takes place one day after Congressman Rahul Gandhi wrapped off his 63-day Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Mumbai, where he read the Preamble of the Constitution and paid respects to Dr. BR Ambedkar at his memorial, Chaityabhoomi in downtown Mumbai. 

The yatra visited Mumbai on Saturday from the nearby Thane after starting on January 14 in conflict-torn Manipur.

Top opposition figures including MK Stalin, Uddhav Thackeray of the Shiv Sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar of the NCP (SP), Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the RJD and former deputy chief minister of Bihar, and Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party (SP) will also be present at the massive gathering.

According to news agency PTI, other participants include Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, previous Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj, and CPI general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya.

  • Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to embark on a ‘Nyay Sankalp Padyatra’ from Mani Bhavan to August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai on Sunday, ahead of the INDIA bloc’s main demonstration, according to a party official quoted by PTI.
  • Gandhi will speak with people in Tejpal Hall, which is close to August Kranti Maidan.
  • When Mahatma Gandhi visited Mumbai, he lived in Mani Bhavan, and the Congress was established at Tejpal Hall on December 28, 1885.
  • Gandhi said that poor women will receive ₹1 lakh annually in their bank accounts if his party won back control of the Lok Sabha in the next elections, while addressing a public gathering in the Dharavi district on Saturday.

  • Gandhi also restated the Congress’s pledge to conduct a caste census.

  • He reportedly stated, “This place should become a manufacturing hub of the country and your skills should be honored,” according to PTI.
